Scott Wallace was a 1995 semi-finalist for the Wisconsin Percent for Art program’s National Open competition. Wallace is a Professor of Art and Design at South Dakota State University, Brookings, SD. Verve depicts plants sprouting through a trellis which symbolizes students blooming under the care and guidance of the faculty. It is described as a "sculptural wall relief." Dimensions are 19' x 15'. The frame that holds the sculpture measures 88" x 98" high and it is made of 4" wide channel iron. Wallace has produced approximately two dozen works that are scattered around the country, including the student union at UW-Platteville. His studio is located in Hendricks, MN.
